Planning my plan
Here I have included a list of the planning that I know I have to do, this is based off my initial expectations before I start the planning process. So as a result I am expecting more planning to be required than what I have listed.

-
Storyboard
-
Title sequence
-
Introduction scrolling text
-
Monk scene surrounding object
-
Transition past planets into solar system
-
Appearance of solar system (including futuristic technological advancements)
-
Order of destruction
-
The 'how' of the destruction of each planet.
-
The aftermath (including a flyby and possibly scrolling text outro)
-
-
List required add-ons
-
Gather sets of textures

Storyboard

Shown to the left is the storyboard I designed for this project. I plan to create a variety of shots to increase the length of my film. I plan to achieve my goals by creating multiple scenes within blender that I hope to be able to transition between seamlessly using Premier Pro, which I will use to composite my individual clips into one single video.

In order to maintain the highest quality for my work, I have decided to use textures from google for my alien planets instead of try and make my own. This way I can have my planets appear as realistic as possible. I also decided to download some black and white luminance maps of different kinds so that I could combine some of the textures together with surface imperfections affecting the distribution. This would allow me to create unique planet textures and combine these changes with height maps to give some interesting terrain generation. I plan to use these textures for the flyby past a bunch of alien planets listed in my storyboard. I have also attached, and plan to use, the textures I collected from NASA. After testing them out I have found that I was wrong about the lighting issue and I cannot seem to find a cause for the confusion. These images will significantly help me increase the quality of my work.

Required Add ons

After creating my storyboard I have found that I will only need two Add-Ons for this project The first Add-On is called 'cell fracture' what it does is it breaks up an object into multiple chunks or slices that then become their own objects. I will use this Add-On to create asteroid fields. As shown on the left, this Add-On can be used in several ways to create multiple different results. My only concern with using this Add-On is that it significantly increases the vertex count in the scene. This combined with the advanced shader I use for the asteroids could prove to be too much for the device to handle.
The second add on is called 'Extra Objects'. I do not need the entirety of this add-on but i do need one feature it contains called 'Wall Factory'. What this does is it generates custom walls in the scene that can be controlled using a pop up menu. This will allow me to use detailed walls in my scenes that have genuine topology instead of using normal maps, which will add to the realism of the scene.
The college computers do not have any Add-Ons installed with blender, so I will use these add-ons in the required way on my personal device, and then transfer the file over to the college computer via USB stick.
