The turbulent gradient problem

Here is the problem: The gradient in this video that shows the transition from an earth like planet to a burnt up planet is just a simple line. What i want is for this line to be messy as though its using a noise or turbulent displace texture.

To solve this issue I searched up 'blender gradient texture' into YouTube. This video to the left was one of the results that appeared. I recognised this video as it was made by one of the YouTube channels I follow personally: Ducky3D. It also happens that I attempted to message him for my primary research in this project. I skipped ahead in this video to the point where he starts working on the node setup. Then I looked out for the part that I needed. Below this video I have attached a screenshot of the area of this video I was interested in. I noticed that Ducky3D used a mix node to combine two textures together. This is different to a math node that overlays them. This method is the result I need to help solve my problem. Below this I have attached a video of me using this newfound knowledge to solve my issue which also displays the result of what this knowledge has allowed me to achieve.
